5 Churches Perfect For Tagaytay Weddings | In and Around Tagaytay

Quick Update:  You may want to check out a more recent article of mine, “10 Churches in Tagaytay Perfect For Weddings” .  It’s got a list of ten churches within Metro Tagaytay, and another ten more from nearby Cavite and Batangas.  Plus it’s got a nice Google Map for interacting.

In & Around Tagaytay, with Renzie Baluyut

Quick note: The Catholic churches featured in this article are found in and around Tagaytay– 3 of these are actually in Batangas, one is in Silang (a town just outside Tagaytay City), and one is located within Tagaytay City. This was an article I wrote for the wedding resource website Country Weddings Philippines, on the subject matter of churches ideal for Tagaytay weddings.

Planning your own dream country wedding in Tagaytay? One of the very first things on your to-do list– right up there with nailing down your wedding date and choosing your wedding reception venue– is figuring out which church you’d be having your wedding ceremony in.

Keisha Uy of BridalBook.ph notes that Tagaytay is indeed a favorite among couples getting married. “Tagaytay is home to a number of churches that are perfect for weddings. With Tagaytay’s cozy countryside feel, to get married in a charming church or chapel would be a dream come true.”

Here’s a list of five popular churches in and around Tagaytay, perfect for your dream Tagaytay wedding, according to BridalBook.com.

1. Chapel on the Hill (Don Bosco Batulao)

Chapel on the Hill is known for its wooden dome ceiling. Light filters through panels of stained glass, creating a warm ambiance that is perfect for intimate ceremonies. The chapel can accommodate up to 100 guests.

Learn to Code and do all sorts of awesome stuff with your PC and mobile devices, with Renzie on www.renziebaluyut.com!

Learning to Code is as Important as Learning to Read

You know how they say you go to school to learn “the three R’s”?  That would actually mean to learn reading, writing and arithmetic (I know.  Note how I put “the three R’s” in quotation marks).  These were all very basic skill sets that we, even as kids, needed to interact and function in our everyday world.

It would seem that code is now the new literacy.

A group of tech entrepreneurs, businessmen and celebrities are behind a movement that encourages kids– and everyone else for that matter– to learn to code, much in the same way they’re proficient (or learning to be proficient) in reading, writing or doing math.

Featured on this video are:

  • Mark Zuckerberg. One of the founders, and quite possibly, the “face” of Facebook.
  • Bill Gates. Co-founder of Microsoft
  • will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. Award-winning recording artist, writer and producer.
  • Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat.
  • Drew Houston founder and CEO of Dropbox.
  • Bronwen Grimes of Valve Software
  • Vanessa Hurst, founder of Developer for Good and co-founder of Girl Develop It!

These are the same good people behind the Hour of Code initiative— which aims to get children (sure, adults too!) to learn computer science and programming for one hour, hoping that it stimulates their interest enough to learn all that on their own.  With better schools, government backing, and the support of private companies and tech-savvy professionals and volunteers, we can definitely make this happen!

As digital entrepreneurs, we can teach each other.  You can learn computer stuff all on your own– build your own apps and websites and go beyond blogging or just using an ipad for work and play.  While I do blog, and maintain a number of sites.  The truth is, I can’t code for shit.  But I am willing to learn, and help others learn along the way.

  • Sunday Blogging Sunday is a regular feature on this site dedicated to make bloggers better.  And by “better”, that now means (among other things), “being able to code”.
  • Renzie’s Adventures in Code is another feature on my site that really gets down and dirty with video tutorials found online on the subject matter of various programming languages.

The Top 10 Mistakes of Entrepreneurs, According to Guy Kawasaki

The UC Berkeley Startup Competition (Bplan) proudly welcomed Guy Kawasaki to the Haas School of Business. Kawasaki, former chief evangelist of Apple and co-founder of Garage Technology Ventures, explained the top ten mistakes that entrepreneurs make. His talk covered all stages of a startup from inception to exit.

Guy Kawasaki

Guy Kawasaki is a Silicon Valley author, speaker, investor and business advisor. He was one of the Apple employees originally responsible for marketing the Macintosh in 1984. He was also a co-founder of Garage Technology Ventures and a news aggregation site called Alltop.

He is a leading authority on the subject matter of entrepreneurship and business. On March 1, 2013, Kawasaki announced he would be joining Google as an advisor to Motorola. His role is to create a Google+ mobile device community.

Our Tagaytay Wedding Suppliers

Odette and I officially celebrate our first anniversary today as a married couple (Yay!).  We’ve really been happy with the way our very own country wedding turned out.

This has been long overdue; to give recognition to all our Tagaytay wedding suppliers, we thought we’d mention them all here, include whatever contact details we have on hand, and hope that, with our recommendation, other soon-to-weds looking to get married in Tagaytay, or wedding coordinators watching out for reliable wedding suppliers for their own Tagaytay weddings and events, would also consider booking these vendors who helped make our special day a lot more special.

For the placeholders at the table, we thought we’d use little cupcakes in boxes instead that had our color scheme of gray and yellow. These cupcakes were specifically meant for the guests to take home; additional cupcakes are available up front as part of a large cupcake tower.

Our Wedding Cake and Wedding Cupcakes at Tagaytay Highlands. Cakes by Sofia's Cakes Tagaytay-Amadeo Road.

Quite possibly, the biggest wedding cake I’ve ever seen– it was perfectly detailed, and had these nice matching satellite cakes, an accompanying cupcake tower, and quaint, matching little cupcakes and mini-cakes giveaways (mentioned above).
