Altered Carbon Blew My Mind

I haven't been able to catch up on my shows like I used to. But wow. Altered Carbon.

For me, it's an awesome mashup of Deus Ex, Shadowrun, Bladerunner, and Vampire the Masquerade. Serious world-building clearly went into the show, with some good storywriting, in a cyberpunk/neo-noir setting.

Brilliant Example of Crisis Management From KFC

In light of the "Cats of BGC" brouhaha that's been all over the news lately,  marketing practitioners have been shaking their heads somewhat on how a seemingly small issue snowballed into a PR nightmare for the brands involved.

And so when a brilliant example of crisis management has caught our attention, we can't help but hope that media/comms agencies and teams can learn from this shining piece of marketing gold.

The story is this: due to supplier issues, a number of KFC stores in the UK were forced to close-- because they had no chicken to cook and sell.

The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale

New on Netflix: The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale!

It's just like The Soup but it's not on a regular broadcast network, so there's a bit of cussing, and still plenty more irreverent humor and poking fun at stuff that comes out on your TV! He watches it all for you (so you don't have to!)

Show Me the Money, I Shoyu the Ramen!

There's this unassuming restaurant at Paseo de Sta. Rosa that serves pretty good but cheap Japanese food.

Upon the recommendation of a friend, this is where we ended up for lunch.

Santi’s Deli in Silang, Cavite

Some of the best places to hang out in our neighborhood are just outside the busiest parts of Tagaytay City.

The steak at Santi's Silang
You can buy steaks fresh at Santi's Silang, or you can have them cooked for you along with your choice of side dishes.

Take Santi's Deli, for instance: it's located along Aguinaldo Highway in Silang, and is one of the few Santi's that has a full-service restaurant.

We come here for proper steaks and wagyu burgers, but you also have good pasta and soups on the menu.

Café G in Taal, Batangas

We were in Taal, Batangas earlier today, and cooled our heels at Café G, located just a stone's throw away from the Basilica of St. Martin of Tours, and the Taal public market.

It's quite the cozy cafe, with all-day breakfast fare. The house specialties include the tapa, the Taal longanisa, and the tamales. Definitely worth looking up when you're doing your heritage excursions to Taal.
