Getting Into The Business of Weddings | An Infographic

Over the last several years, we’ve seen more entrepreneurs get into the business of weddings; not just in the area of Metro Tagaytay, not just here in the Philippines, but in pretty much the entire world.  Noticed how many wedding fairs are being held in Metro Manila alone?  How many wedding magazines are out there now?  Or even new wedding-centric websites and apps, for that matter?

No doubt about it, weddings make for good business.  So if you’re considering setting up your own operation, here are a few things you should know:

Key Take-away Points:

Weddings are a year-long business. While peak seasons happen in Christmas all the way to summer (at least in Metro Tagaytay), weddings, engagements and proposals happen all year long.

Weddings are an online business. A vast majority of soon-to-wed couples use the internet to plan their wedding– using a combination of search, frequenting wedding websites and interacting on social media.

Weddings are a lucrative business. In the Philippines, an average wedding can set back a newlywed couple Php500k to Php700k in total wedding costs, many even breaking the Php1M mark. While considerably lower than the average cost of weddings in the United States, there’s still a lot of money to be made here in the Philippines, or even in Tagaytay, as far as weddings go.
